My children have been part of Toronto Athletic Camp (TAC) for a few years now, and they have
loved their enriching positive summer camp experiences! TAC has seven convenient locations in
the GTA.
Camps for children 3.5 to 16
Campers age 3.5 and 4 to 5 years will get the opportunity to experience different sports at the
Adventure Camp. Campers 6 to 12 years can choose the full day option with two sports or half
day with one sport for the week. They also have leadership in training for teens 13 to 16 years.
Since the camp groups are set up with children in similar age groups, children will be able to
make friends quickly and connect. As a parent, I like that TAC ensures to have a low coach to
student ratio that lets campers get the attention they need to develop skills.
STEM themed programs
They offer STEM themed programs partnering with LSA (Lifetime Skills Academy). These
hands-on learning STEM themed programs such as LEGO Robotics, Creativity Unleashed, and
more are designed to exercise children’s minds and creativity. More about these programs and its
benefits on a later post.
Lunch and snacks
The fees for full day one-week camp include lunch and two snacks, where campers are provided
with a hot lunch prepared in a peanut free environment. They also meet different dietary
restrictions. This is convenient for parents too as we don’t need to plan lunches for the summer!
Overnight camping in the city
This summer, TAC is offering overnight summer camp. This is a great opportunity for our
children to have the experience of overnight camp without leaving the city. The camp is aimed
for children 9 to 14 years.
Children will get the opportunity to spend their nights at Tyndale campus dorms, learn and play
soccer and basketball at Glendon campus with trained experts to reach their complete potential.
Boys and girls will be in separate rooms and 2 campers will share a room.
Campers will be treated like they are part of a professional sports team, as they will be getting to
go on bus excursions, be part of game nights and play ping pong, strategic gaming where they
will get to watch footage of their sports, enjoy video game tournaments, and end the week with a
tournament. All campers will get feedback and performance tracks. They will also get an
opportunity to either go to a sporting game or a training facility during the week.
The campers will be provided with nutritious high quality meals. The overnight camp
opportunity will start on Sunday afternoon and end on Saturday morning after breakfast.
Overnight camps are a fabulous way for children to gain independence, learn to develop social
skills, and an opportunity to practice their leadership skills, take initiative and make friends.
It is best to plan the summer days early, and register our children soon to these exciting
opportunities that will help them gain valuable lifetime skills.
